Fresh Cut Christmas Trees in Logan Utah
Varieties of Fresh Cut Farm Grown Christmas Trees
Noble Fir
The beautiful deep green of the noble fir has been a long time favorite for Fresh Cut Christmas Trees and a staple variety we stock for sale in Logan. These deep green needles turn upward, exposing the lower branches. The color can range slightly between a forest green to blue/green. It is long lasting, sturdy and pleasantly aromatic. It’s stiff branches make it a good tree for heavy ornaments, as well as providing excellent greenery for wreaths and garlands. The bark is smooth with resin blisters. (Hint: Blisters are filled with an oil-like resin. Breaking the blister will release their fragrance.)

Nordmann Fir
The Nordmann fir is a European variety that is relatively new and has become a popular favorite for Fresh Cut Christmas trees. This is also a common stock we have for sale in Logan. It is favored for it’s attractive, foliage and soft needles that do not drop readily when the tree dries out. Needles are long, glossy dark green on top and silvery blue underneath. Branches tend to drape down in a layered skirt. Nordmann are often referred to as the “hypoallergenic” tree as they do not have a strong aroma and are ideal where allergies or sensitivity to the typical Christmas tree aroma is a concern.

Grand Fir
The Grand fir is easily one of the favorite choices of Fresh Cut Christmas Tree for sale in Logan. It can be distinguished from other Pacific Northwest firs by its sprays of lustrous green needles in two distinct rows. They are usually horizontally spread so that both the upper and lower sides of the branches are clearly visible. The needles are long with glossy dark green tops and silvery undersides. The bark is grayish-brown, usually with white mottles, smooth with resin blisters. It is a favorite Christmas tree variety for it’s thick foliage and very strong, sweet aroma. Grand firs are not as long lasting and we usually have them available for sale in Logan a week or two after our other varieties.

Natural Noble
The natural noble has all the characteristics of a shaped noble except that it is allowed to grow naturally. It is more open between layers and may not be as wide at the bottom. It is uncommon and a unique variety of Fresh Cut Christmas Tree that we have for sale in Logan. This variation of Noble is also better at heights over 10 ft than the thicker, heavier shaped Nobles.

Fraser Fir
Fraser Fir is a highly popular, sturdy variety of Fresh Cut Christmas Tree. It’s mild fragrance, pyramidal shape, strong limbs, and ability to retain its soft needles for a long time are among the many reasons for it’s popularity. The foliage is a gray green in color with silvery stripes on the underside. Fraser branches tend to grow in an erratic compact pattern which helps with shaping. Because it is in high demand and often high cost, it is a treat to have it for sale in Logan.

Varieties of Forest Grown Christmas Trees
Alpine Fir
Alpine are the hardiest and longest lasting tree we offer and by far the most popular Fresh Cut forest Christmas tree we sell in Logan. They are ideal for smaller spaces because of their narrow bottom and are a better choice for trees over 12 ft tall because they do not get overwhelming at the bottom. The bark is smooth, gray, and with resin blisters. They have a strong, sharp yet pleasant aroma. The needles are flat and sharp pointed, ¾ – 1 ¼ inches long, dull grayish-green, yellow-green or blue color. Colors, needle thickness and even branch lengths can vary depending on each tree’s growing environment so they may seem like very different trees next to one another. Our handmade wreaths are primarily made with Alpine boughs.

Wild Grand Fir
The wild Grands share most of the same attributes of the farm variety. They have the same layers of lustrous needles, glossy bright green tops and silvery on the undersides. It is also a favorite Fresh Cut Christmas tree variety for those who like a natural, open tree and the benefits of the Grand’s beautiful foliage and strong, sweet aroma. They do tend to be wide on the bottom and are better suited to a larger open room or area. The bark is grayish-brown, usually with white mottles, smooth with resin blisters.

Mountain Douglas Fir (or Dougs)
The common name is misleading since it is not a true fir but actually part of the pine family. Doug firs have long branches that tend to spread or droop with long, soft needles radiating out in all directions giving it a feathery look. Needle colors range from light or lime green to gray green, 1 to 1 1/2 inches long and very fine. They have a sweet fragrance when crushed. Forest Dougs are popular as a low cost Fresh Cut Christmas tree, however they do not handle extremes in cold or hot and may drop needles sooner than other varieties. For this reason they are not ideal if you like to get your tree early.
Open Country Dougs
Open Country Dougs have the same soft, fine needles and sweet fragrance as the mountain Dougs however, Douglas cut on open country or at lower elevations tend to be sturdier and branch out more creating a fuller more upright look and their color is more lime to yellow-green. Though a little pricier than the previous Dougs, they are still a great deal for a Fresh Cut Christmas tree and looks great with a rustic, country theme.

Lodge Pole Pine
Lodge pole Pine is a different look for sale as a Fresh Cut Christmas tree here in Logan and suited well for a country or cabin-like theme. The elastic branches curve upright or overhang and have short shoots on them. The branches and shoots are covered with long, shiny needles, dark green to yellow-green in color, pointed, and 1 ½ to 3 inches long. Many, but not all have cones still attached. Shoots or branch tips add texture to handmade wreaths and swags.

CanTrees (Table top Christmas trees)
CanTrees are a table top tree and stand in one. Ranging in heights from 18 – 36 inches (above the can), they make the perfect choice for small apartments or offices and are super popular with kids for their rooms. CanTrees are Fresh CUT trees and made with the wild varieties -Alpine, Grand, Lodge pole and Douglas.
